Privacy
This page describes what the game stores and what it sends. It is written to match the code rather than to cover every eventuality, and it is short because the game collects very little.
The short version
There are no accounts. You never give us an email address, and we never ask for one. The game gives your browser a random identifier so it can keep your own progress and leaderboard row apart from anyone else's.
The game is free and carries advertising from third parties. Those advertising companies collect information about your device in order to select and measure the ads they show you, and we do not control what they collect. Everything below explains what that means and how to limit it.
What is stored on your device
All of this stays in your browser's local storage and never leaves it unless a leaderboard row is posted:
- A random install identifier, generated on first visit. It is not derived from your hardware, your network, or anything about you.
- Your display name, if you set one. You choose it and may change or clear it at any time.
- Your progress: best level, biomass earned, biomass balance, boosters held, saved levels, and which days you have played.
- Your purchases. Payments are simulated in this build, so no card details exist to store.
What is sent to the server
Only when a global leaderboard is switched on. Each of these leaves your device:
| Field | Why |
|---|---|
| Install identifier | To keep one leaderboard row per device |
| Display name | To label your row on the board |
| Deepest level reached | The first ranking key |
| Biomass earned by playing | The second ranking key |
| Country | Supplied by the network edge, kept at country level only |
| Gameplay events | Run starts and ends, level clears, purchases opened |
What we never collect
These promises cover us. Advertising companies are separate, and the section below sets out what they do.
- No IP addresses are written to any record of ours.
- No precise location. Country is the finest granularity we keep.
- No email, phone number or real name.
- No contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- We run no analytics product of our own beyond the counts described above, and we do not track you across other websites.
- We do not sell your personal information for money. Note that showing personalized ads may still count as “sharing” under some US state laws — see below.
Advertising
The game shows banner ads and optional rewarded videos supplied by third-party advertising networks. When an ad loads, that network — not us — may collect and use:
- Your IP address, which indicates your approximate location.
- Your device and browser: type, operating system, language, screen size.
- Cookies, local storage and advertising identifiers set by that network, which may be readable on other sites and apps that use it.
- Which ads you were shown, whether you watched or tapped them, and how long you played around them.
Depending on your region and your choices, ads may be personalized — selected using a profile built from your activity across other sites — or non-personalized, selected from the page's context and coarse location alone.
We do not receive that profile, and we do not pass your display name, your leaderboard row or your progress to any advertising network.
Ad network in use: to be confirmed before launch. Its own privacy policy governs what it does with the data it collects, and will be linked here once the network is chosen.
Your choices about advertising
- Remove Ads is a one-off purchase in the menu. It stops ads being requested at all, which stops the collection above.
- If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you will be asked to consent before any advertising or measurement cookie is set, and you may refuse or withdraw consent. Refusing means you see non-personalized ads rather than none.
- If you are in California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, personalized advertising counts as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you have the right to opt out. Use the consent control to turn personalization off.
- Your device may offer its own control — “Limit Ad Tracking”, “Opt out of Ads Personalisation”, or a browser setting that blocks third-party cookies.
Cookies
We set no cookies. The game keeps its own data in your browser's local storage, which is not shared with other sites and is cleared when you clear site data.
Advertising networks do set cookies, and may use their own local storage, once ads load. Clearing site data removes what is stored under this address; what an ad network stores under its own address is controlled through that network or your browser settings.
Deleting your data
Open the menu and use Delete my data. That erases your leaderboard row and your events from our server immediately. To erase what is held on the device as well, clear site data for this address in your browser. No email or request form is involved, because there is no account to verify.
That control does not reach data held by an advertising network, because we cannot delete records we never hold. To exercise your rights against a network, use the link in the panel above or your device's advertising controls.
How long things are kept
Leaderboard rows are kept while the board exists. Gameplay events are kept for operational analysis and are not retained indefinitely. Everything is deleted at once when you use Delete my data.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Where a player is identified as a child, or where the law of their country requires it, advertising is requested in non-personalized mode and no advertising profile may be built. If you believe a child has provided a display name you would like removed, use Delete my data on that device, or contact us.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area, or a US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights of access, correction and erasure over personal data held about you. The install identifier is treated as personal data for this purpose even though it identifies a browser rather than a person. The Delete my data control exercises the erasure right directly; for anything else, contact us.
Changes
If what the game collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date below moves. There is no mailing list to notify.
